MALUK, Indonesia -- The day after my hike out of the mountains to Maluk, helicopters kept stopping at the drill pad to find Johnny Shombing and Pa Ross. They weren't there. I got nervous, and joined the helicopter on what became the last run in. Johnny and Pa were fine. This was one of my last views of the mountains.
